About Admiralty Sailing Directions Admiralty Sailing Directions are often referred to as Pilots.
They are designed to assist the merchant marine on all classes of oceangoing vessel and provide essential information on all aspects of navigation.
Sailing Directions are complementary to Admiralty Standard Navigational Charts and worldwide coverage is provided in 72 volumes.
